I want to trade in my old FFDO Belt for a new one can I do that?
Answer: FFDO Gear made the original belt you purchased. I will keep your belt alive as long as you want; but eventually it will wear out. When that happens buy a B-49 and you’ll be glad you made the purchase.
Can I buy a left-handed belt?
Answer: The B-49 can be worn on either the left or right side. To use the belt for the left side shooter, just thread the belt on to your pants the opposite way and adjust it according to your preference.
What if something breaks on the belt?
Answer: All customer service and warranty information is on the Desantis Holster Company Website at http://www.desantisholster.com
Is the B-49 TSA Approved for wear?
Answer: I attempted to get the TSA to evaluate the Original FFDO belt and they flat out refused to even look at it. Like the original FFDO Belt the B-49 fits the TSA criteria as a dress leather uniform belt.
How does the B-49 perform at the range?
Answer: AWESOME!!!! It holds the weapon much more securely than the original FFDO belt. There is much less slop and movement when drawing the weapon. Because of the adjustability feature of the B-49, you can wear your weapon comfortably using the lower holes on the holster just like we learned in training. The instructors all wanted one.
Can the B-49 get through security?
Answer: Because you can completely remove the side belt the brass snap receivers on the main belt rarely set off the metal detectors. In the event that they do set off the detectors the B-49 is much easier to remove and put back on than the original FFDO Belt.
What size belt do I order?
Answer: Follow the belt size ordering instructions on the Size Tab on the top of the home page. Even sizes 32-44 are commonly available in stock. Sizes outside that range will have to be custom made. Email me at AJBarton737@gmail.com and I’ll work it out with you.
The belt is hard to thread through my pants loops?
Answer: Not all pants loops are the exact size. I suggest threading the FFDO Belt on your pants while they are off. Sometimes threading the belt on inside out then twisting it around once it is all the way on your pants helps.
What if I ordered the wrong size?
Answer: (EYE Roll) Ok, send it back unused and I will send you a second belt. For the original FFDO Belt, return the first belt in unused condition and I will custom make you a new belt.
What if I change hands now that I am a CAPTAIN?
Answer: Congratulations on making CAPTAIN. If you have a B-49 just thread it on the opposite direction. If you ordered the original belt, now you can afford a brand new FFDO BELT or better yet order a B-49.
I need more holes punched in my belt.
Answer: The fastest and most effective way to get more holes in your belt is to either do it yourself with a leather punch or go to a cobbler and have him do it. If you want to mail it to me I’ll be glad to do it. Just email me for the address and mark on the belt where you want the hole.
Is the FFDO belt approved by the company?
Answer: I have not sought the company’s approval on this. The belt’s appearance meets the basic criteria outlined in our uniform regulations in the FOM. It is very subdued and only someone really looking for it would even notice. I have worn the FFDO belt for testing for the last 3 years. Only one person has asked what the extra clip is for. Oh-by-the–way he is an FFDO and guessed before hand what it was for and now wants one too.
Can I put on my own buckle?
Answer: Yes, the FFDO belt buckles are just standard nickel or brass color with a single slot for the tang, two snaps and Walla. If you want a brass colored buckle please specify when you order.
The Snaps are hard to work what am I doing wrong?
Answer: Work the snap about 50 to 100 times to break them in. Just sit there while watching the ball game. The leather will form to the snaps and belt and make it easier to work. They are stiff in-order to make them more secure.
